Andrew B. Heard, Author
Andrew Heard was, first and foremost, a loving father, husband, and man of great faith. Andrew was first diagnosed with cancer when he was 18 years old. He beat the stage four diagnosis and went on to play football at Texas Tech University, where he graduated in a quick three years. He then went to Truett Seminary in Waco, Texas where he walked onto the Baylor football team to finish out his football eligibility. It was there he wrote his first book, Your Best Life Later, about his battle with cancer. Andrew met his future wife, Bailey, who was a cheerleader at Baylor, and they were married in 2007. Their daughter, Ellie, was born in 2011. Andrew went on to be the student minister at Park Cities Baptist Church in Highland Park, Texas. In 2012, Andrew was re-diagnosed with stage four terminal cancer. During this time, Andrew spoke to thousands of people about what it means to have faith during life’s most difficult circumstances, finished a book called, A Gray Faith, created meaningful discussions through his blog, andrewbheard.com, and lastly, finished illustrating and writing The Ellie Project for his then-two-year-old daughter, Ellie. Andrew passed away on July 26, 2013, but his legacy lives on through his books and his family
Bailey B. Heard, Co-Author, Speaker and Life Coach
Hi! I’m Bailey (aka Andrew’s wife and Ellie’s mom). In 2012, my life took an unexpected turn when my then-29-year-old husband, Andrew, was re-diagnosed with terminal cancer. I chronicled my experiences as a young wife, mother, and caregiver of my husband through my blog, baileyheard.com. My life was transformed by the courage and character of my husband as he fought for his own life. Determined to make his legacy known, I now travel the country speaking to groups large and small, selling Andrew’s books, A Gray Faith and The Ellie Project, and sharing the inspirational message to not allow our circumstances to define our lives, but rather to let them inspire our growth. I encourage others to live life fully in the present moment, no matter what our situations. I also work one-on-one with women as a life coach. I’m especially drawn to women who have experienced any type of loss (loss of a dream, a spouse, etc.), so I can help them understand now is the time to live their lives loud enough to Be Heard. I am a proud graduate of Baylor University with a degree in Business. I currently live in Dallas, Texas with my beautiful daughter, Ellie. To follow our journey go to baileyheard.com.
